Association professionals in Chicago can celebrate Women’s History Month in meaningful ways that engage members, recognize women leaders, and promote learning. We just wrapped up our ultimate celebration of women leaders–Women’s Executive Forum™. While this meeting was a huge success, you don’t have to pull off a full day conference to celebrate the month of March. Here are five ideas:

1. Host a Women’s Leadership Panel or Fireside Chat

Bring together influential women in your industry for a discussion on leadership, career growth, and the challenges they’ve overcome. Consider featuring local Chicago leaders or women from your association’s network.

2. Highlight Women Trailblazers in Your Field

Use newsletters, social media, or webinars to spotlight women who have made significant contributions to your industry. You can also showcase stories of women members who are making an impact today.

3. Organize a Networking Event or Coffee Chat Series

Create opportunities for women in your association to connect, mentor, and share insights. Consider hosting a breakfast, happy hour, or roundtable discussions at a Chicago venue with a strong history of supporting women professionals.

4. Support Women-Owned Businesses

Partner with or promote women-owned vendors, caterers, and speakers for association events. You could also organize a group outing to a woman-owned restaurant or bookshop in Chicago.

5. Give Back Through a Community Initiative

Coordinate a volunteer day with a Chicago-based nonprofit that supports women and girls, such as Women Employed, Sarah’s Circle, or YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. Donations or mentorship programs can also make a lasting impact. We partnered with Sarah’s Circle for Women’s Executive Forum and raised nearly $4,000 for the women’s shelter.

Last year, Association Forum hosted a series of webinars on equal pay for women. Members can access this content on-demand for free. Visit the links below to view the webinars.
