Associate Vice President, MCI USA
How did you come to the association industry?
I was a recent college graduate and started to use my network from my internship to find a job. I was a leader in college and had some volunteer management experience. As luck would have it, there was a position open at the Dietary Managers Association (at the time, DMA’s CEO was the president of Association Forum, Bill St. John) and I was hired to work with Chapters. I was hooked and have not left the association business in 25+ years.
What is your favorite part of your job?
The ability to creatively think and drive solutions is very rewarding.
Tell us about a time that your involvement in this community had an impact on your career or life.
I think the key word here is community—and it really is. I appreciate how open association leaders are in helping others find a position, a new idea, a vendor, etc. We are all really ONE community in different places of business.
Tell us something about you that we wouldn’t find on your LinkedIn profile.
I made really delicious homemade pasta —at least my family tells me so!
