Association Forum Announces New President and CEO

Chicago, IL, January 10, 2022— The Board of Directors for Association Forum is proud to announce Artesha C. Moore, CAE, FASAE, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer effective February 14, 2022.
“After a comprehensive and rigorous search, we are delighted to welcome Artesha Moore as the new President & CEO of Association Forum,” said Association Board Chair Paul Pomerantz, CAE, FASAE, and CEO of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. “The Board and Search Committee was impressed with her strategic insight, her enthusiasm for the opportunities facing the Forum, her track record on execution, and her superior interpersonal skills. We are confident that, in partnership with our engaged professional community, she will lead the Association Forum to the next level of excellence.”
Ms. Moore currently is the Vice President, Affiliation, Engagement, and Membership of the American Geophysical Union (AGU). In addition to creating meaningful engagement opportunities for members and the broader earth and space sciences community, her focus has been on developing strategic plans to guide major program overhauls and realignment initiatives. A Magna cum laude graduate with a BS in Management Studies from the University of Maryland, she is also an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). In 2021 she was selected as one of the ASAE class of Fellows, in 2010 a Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar, and currently serves on their Foresight Works Advisory Group.

She will work with the Board, outgoing interim CEO Suzanne Berry, MBA, CAE, and the Association Forum staff over the coming months to ensure an effective and seamless transition.

About Artesha C. Moore
Artesha Moore, FASAE, CAE brings more than 20 years of association management experience to Association Forum. Prior to joining the Forum, she was the Vice President of Affiliation, Engagement, and Membership at AGU—American Geophysical Union located in Washington, DC. AGU is the largest global society of Earth and space scientists with more than 60,000 members. Her primary responsibilities focused on developing strategies to broaden and deepen engagement with scientists through their career span from primary education to retirement.
Throughout her career, she has helped associations set and exceed aggressive membership and volunteer engagement goals while integrating new technology solutions and strategies. She has honed her leadership skills with organizations representing a variety of industries including healthcare, engineering, and scientific research institutions. Artesha works tirelessly to create lasting structures that help identify volunteers and staff whose voices and ideas were not being heard and provide them with opportunities to lead. She has a knack for fixing uncommon problems by addressing them from the inside out while empowering everyone around her.
Artesha holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management degree from the University of Maryland. She is an active contributor within the broader association community. A member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 2001, she is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and was inducted into ASAE’s Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) in 2010. Named one of Association Trends magazine’s 2012 Young and Aspiring Association Professionals, she was recently selected as one of the 2021 ASAE class of Fellows. Currently, she is a member of ASAE’s Foresight Works Advisory Group. She also served as faculty for the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management where she developed a course to teach the new DEI curriculum. More importantly, she spends time mentoring the next generation of leaders by pushing them to find their own solutions to both the expected and the unexpected challenges they may face.
